Life of a Busy Mom!

I took a look at our blog today and realized I haven't posted anything since July!! Holy smokes! I guess time flies by fast when you are a busy Mom of 2 (soon to be 3!) :o) Well, tonight I actually have some "time" to try to catch up a little! So here goes!!

September 2009

Our Miss Addisen started 3 year old preschool this past September! Hard to believe she's already old enough to go to school. She attends a preschool at a Luthern church right down the street from our house. This year, its only 2 days a week - Tuesdays and Thursdays - for 2 hours. She is really enjoying school!

October 2009

Our little princess, Olivia, celebrated her 1st birthday on October 30th!! We can't believe she's already a year old! Where did the time go??? I had a friend of mine make her birthday cakes - I picked ladybugs since that is what she dressed up as for Halloween! :o) She sure enjoyed digging into and eating her little ladybug "smash" cake!

This year was Olivia's first year dressing up for Halloween! (we were in the hospital with her for her first Halloween! :o) ) Addisen decided she wanted to be Snow White this year and Olivia was a ladybug! Addisen got to enjoy a 'costume party" at her preschool. Erik and I attended and brought Olivia dressed up in her costume too! It was nice that they got to wear their costumes more than just once! They both looked so cute in them!

Catching Up!

Okay.....finally getting around to updating this blog! As you can tell, the summer has been pretty busy! Since my last post, a lot has happened! At the end of April, Olivia turned 6 months and started eating solid food! She loved every bite too and still does! That girl sure likes to eat! :) Thankfully so far, there hasn't been anything she doesn't like!

At the end of May (May 31st), we celebrated Addisen's 3rd birthday! Its so hard to believe she is 3 already! Still seems like yesterday we brought our first baby home from the hospital! :) They certainly do grow up fast! We also signed her up for a 3 year olds preschool class in the Fall! She'll go to school 2 days a week (Tues/Thurs) from 9-11:30am. I'm so excited for her....I know she will really enjoy it!

About a week after Addisen's birthday, we found out some great and surprising news! We are expecting our 3rd child! My due date is February 6th, 2010! We truly are so excited!! Erik is of course hoping that this one is a boy!! :) To me, either one would be a blessing! We are planning on finding out what we are having at my 20 week ultrasound which will probably be sometime mid-September. So far, I have been spared any nausea or sickness - which has been so nice! The only thing I've experienced is feeling very tired a lot of the time. I guess that is kind of expected though! After all, it take a toll on the body to create a human being! :)

We also did a family road trip down to Kentucky at the end of June for a family reunion on my Dad's side. The family reunion occurs every summer but Erik and I had not been to one since about 5 or so years ago (before we had kids)....so no one had ever met our girls yet! We had a wonderful time and it was so great to see everyone again! We are planning on going again next year and are looking forward to it! Should be an interesting road trip since we will be bringing 3 kids with us next year! :)

Wow....time really does fly!

I just realized I haven't posted anything since April! Yikes! Hard to believe its almost mid-June already! Anyway, I'm going to try to make it a point to post some new pictures and updates by the end of this week! Stay tuned!!! :)

We recently took advantage of great kids photo shoot promotion. A couple who attends the same church as we do run their own professional photography business (called Arising Images) and they offered a deal for a free "in studio" kids photo shoot for the month of April that we just couldn't pass up! They really do beautiful work (check out their website and blog below) and have won many awards for their work! Happy Easter!!

We really had a fun Easter this year with the girls. Addisen helped me make some Easter/Spring sugar cookies and she also got to color some Easter eggs with her Daddy! This was Olivia's very first Easter season so that was pretty exciting! She got to meet the Easter bunny for the first time! I think she liked him because we actually got a picture of her smiling while sitting on his lap! :o)

Now that Easter has come and gone.....we hope that means that warmer weather is right around the corner! I can't wait for all the trees and flowers to start budding and blooming again! This is my favorite time of year. I think its because its just such a beautiful reminder of how God make all things new! Happy Spring everyone and hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Easter!

A Visit with the Easter Bunny!

Olivia's first visit with the Easter bunny! I think she liked him! :o)

Addisen "chickened out" this year. She didn't want to go with little sis to see Mr. Easter bunny. She told us "he's kinda scary". Ha Ha...... So as we were leaving, she was looking in the window at the Easter bunny (and the kids who were in there visiting him) saying "I want to go see the Easter bunny." We think she just liked him from a distance! :o) Maybe next year she won't be so afraid of him. (and hopefully Olivia will still like him!)

Here it is April already and I realized its been a while since I've posted any new pictures of the girls! Can't believe it but Olivia is 5 months now (whoa!) and Addisen will be 3 years old in just 2 short months (May 31st!)! (even bigger 'whoa'!) Having a blast with them both and love 'em both to pieces!!!
